Number of errors almost cost Poland the victory

Poland players were relieved after their comeback to win the match in four sets

Tijuana, Mexico, July 3, 2013 – Poland team need to reduce the number of errors now that they are going into the quarterfinals of the FIVB Boys’ U19 World Championship and were able to survive the 40 errors they made in the victory over Turkey.

Bartosz Bucko, captain of Poland: “We are very happy with the victory in this important match. We should have won it in three sets but made many mistakes, too many mistakes. We have to correct that part of our game.”

Yigit Gulmezoglu, captain of Turkey: “In the first two sets we couldn’t play as we are capable of, then we recovered but couldn’t finish as we wanted.”

Weislaw Czaja, coach of Poland: “First of all I want to thank my players for the victory. We knew Turkey was a tough opponent and it was confirmed tonight. We scored six consecutive points to win the fourth set, which was outstanding. I am very happy to go with my team to the quarterfinals.”

Hidayetoglu Ali Khazi, coach of Turkey: “As you know, Poland is the second best team in Europe. A very strong team physically and technically. We played well but couldn’t close the fourth set. The first two sets, Poland’s serves were very strong and even though we recovered and came back into the game, couldn’t make the final point.”
