Press release

We played as a team today, says Thailand captain

I am happy that we won to get a better position in the final standings, said Thailand captain Kuttika Kaewpin.

Thailand beat Nigeria 25-16, 25-9, 25-11 on the last day of the FIVB Women's U20 World Championship at Brno’s Vodova hall. We deserved to win, said Thailand coach Nataph Srisamutnak.

Thailand coach Nataph Srisamutnak: Our players were better than Nigerian today, we deserved to win. As for the final standing, I am not very satisfied. However, in our pool were very strong opponents. We were not lucky at this point but we are happy to be here.

Thailand captain Kuttika Kaewpin: We played as a team today. I am happy that we won to get a better position in the final standings.

Nigeria coach Sergey Ovechkin: My team did again many mistakes today; it is a psychological issue for the players. We did not have constant serve and reception that are basics for volleyball.

Nigeria captain Mercy Promise: We lost the match and finished last but we learned a lot during the tournament. It means a lot for us as we played for the first time at such tournament.
