Next step to focus on Chile, before second round

Joaquin Gallego spikes against Japan. Gallego also had a good blocking performance.

Mexicali, Mexico, June 29, 2013 — After a solid victory against Japan in straight sets, Argentina looks into the next round at FIVB Boys’ U19 World Championship.

However, there is another challenge for the team coached by Julian Alvarez: to play against Chile on Sunday.

Julian Alvarez, coach of Argentina: “This is a very tough Pool, anybody can win or lose, and anybody can qualify to next round. We will focus on Chile. Japan was a very difficult team with a style so much different as the one we know.”

Matias Miranda, captain of Argentina: “Winning is good, and if you win with a 3-0 score is much better. But I think that if We had improved our reception, We would finish with a greater performance.”

Hiroshi Honda, coach of Japan: “Argentina is a team that plays very agressively and also is very fast. We could not make the right adjustements.

Tsubasa Hisahara, captain of Japan: “We made many mistakes at the important points and on the other hand, Argentina is a very good team.”
