My players learned a lot of good things from this championship, says Puerto Rico’s coach

Puerto Rico's head coach Juan Carlos Rodriguez and team captain Wilmarie Rivera in an interview with journalists

Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, August 4, 2013 – Puerto Rico’s head coach Juan Carlos Rodriguez expressed his satisfaction over his team’s participation in this championship. The following are quotes from head coaches and team captains from Slovenia and Puerto Rico.

Joze Casar, head coach of Slovenia: “I think we came up with a better form. However, we played a relaxed game. Puerto Rico are strong as we saw them play a very good tough match against Poland. We also played tough in this match against Puerto Rico. Fortunately, we won the match. I would like to thank Thailand to make this tournament a memorable success.”

Eva Mori, team captain of Slovenia: “We are so tired of playing tough matches in the tournament. We did not play well in compared with our previous matches. However, we are happy to win this match and finish 13th place in our first World Championship.”

Juan Carlos Rodriguez, head coach of Puerto Rico: “I’m happy that my players maintained their level. By taking part in this world-class tournament, my players also gained valuable experiences. They learned a lot of good things and they became stronger. I’m happy with all these things.”

Wilmarie Rivera, team captain of Puerto Rico: “I think both teams played well. I’m quite happy that we finished 14th in this championship. We will try much harder in preparation for the next championship.
