Lo Bianco: Three wins have given us confidence

Italy Head coach Massino Barbolini talks during timeout

Eleonora Lo Bianco (ITA) - captain

On the match:

"We are happy (because) this is our third consecutive victory. The whole team has played very well. Of course, we have encountered difficulties but we have overcome them, and now the important thing is to prepare for our next match."

On the team's confidence:

"The three victories have given us a lot of confidence. Every match is important."

On Taismary Aguero whose mother died this week:

"Despite the difficulties Aguero has encountered, she is a courageous person and she will overcome them. She dispalys great strength on the court."

Massimo Barbolini (ITA) - coach

On the match:

"It was important for us to play a good match today to comtinue with the same intensity (as in previous matches). It was also important for the (Olympic competition) points."

"We played well in the first set and third set, but made some little mistakes in the second, probably too many mistakes."

"But I am happy because now we are sure to be in the quarterfinals. Now we have to think about the next two matches because they are very, very important."

On the prize money for a gold medal for Italy:

"The prize or award itself will not have any effect on me personally. I can not say the discussions are not relevant, but I think it was little effect on the team."

On Aguero sitting out for the third set:

"Aguero is a player like every other player. Today she played two sets and it was normal to change around players. I think it was important today to try some other solutions, but she is fine and I am sure she can play all the other matches."

Narimen Madani (ALG) - captain

On the match:

"We tried our best. The loss is because Italy is one of the strongest teams in the world."

On how the team scored 20 points in the second set, the most they have scored in a set during this Olympics:

"We did play very well in the second set because we had good coordination. We managed to score 20 points, and indeed this is an achievement for us."

Mouloud Ikhedji (ALG) - coach

On the match:

"Generally speaking, of course we are not happy with our performance today. The Algerian team and the Italian team have different levels of skills, technique and personal experience."

"Italy's experience won the game. Agleria did not performe well in the first set, but in the second set we had good defence and scored 20 points. This is a big accomplishment for us."

On whether some of his players' experience with European Club teams had helped the Algerian team at the Olympics:

"Number 14 (Faiza Tsabet) and seven (Raouya Rouabhia) play for a team in France and in September, other players will be going to the Netherlands and France. competing in clubs in other countries and in high level competitions helps them to gain experience."

"Algeria's training facilities are not adequate, so when we train we usually go to Italy because it is not far from us. It is only an hour's flight."
