Ogino Masaji (JPN)

On the match

"Today our service has been very bad. That is why we lost in the first two sets."

On the atarting line-up made up completely of Olympic first time:

"Personally, I have not felt too nervous. nevertheless, we did not play to our full potential today, particularly in the face of our opposings' strong service. We need to turn our attacks into defence in order to come out on top."

Ueta Tasuya (JPN)- coach

On the team's performace:

"The service of our team today has been satisfactory and that is the biggest reason for our failure today."

On the impact of the new ball on their service errors:

"I do not think the new ball has anhthing to do with our service as the Italian team is using the same ball (and they did not make errors)."

On the reason for their service errors:

"The service is primarily a matter of the techinical skills of the individuals, so I think our poor serving was the result of (a negative )state of mind."

Alberto Cisolla (ITA) - Captain

On the match:

"We played a very good game today, particularly in the first two sets. But in the third set our rhythm was not controlled and our co-ordination was not satisfactory. (It was lucky) that we recovered our concetration and co-ordination in the fourth set.:
