"For us is just wonderful to play well against Bulgaria, a physical team, high level skills, big block... Tonight we started a little slow, but our block and defense was good against them, we dig a lot of balls, the transition worked well. We played a high level Volleyball in the third set and then the 4th set was another game: we got our points in some critical times."

USA captain Thomas Hoff:

"Obviously we're very happy, the Bulgarians are strong, powerful, big guys, even if they miss Konstantinov, a player who can control the ball very good. We're playing better and better, we made some adjustments watching the videos. Eventually we made a couple of good plays to close the match."

Bulgarian Head Coach Martin Stoev:

"I think we played a good match despite the loss. We lost because we had not he right choices by the setter and tactically we did not managed to stop Stanley. I think we had our chances in the fourth set."

"First of all, congratulation to USA, it was our first loss, but USA was better then us today. We equalled results in the four sets but they won in fifth. Hoper the next one will be better for us. We were close to the tie break, we need more concentration for the long period in the future."
