Lima, Peru, July 27, 2011 - At the second match of Pool E in the FIVB Volleyball Women´s Junior World Championship Peru 2011, Dominican Republic beat Peru 3-0 (25-19, 26-24, 25-15) at Eduardo Dibos Gymnasium in Lima. This is the first match that Dominican won in this second round, while Peru is 0-2 in Pool E.
Paola Peña led Dominican Republic with 19 points in the match, next to Elizabeth Martinez with 13 points. The Peruvian top scorer was Brenda Uribe with 12 points, next to Clarivett Yllescas with 9 points. Dominican Republic held an 11-3 margin in blocks and 9-6 advantage in service aces.

The first set was a really tight as the first technical time came with a difference of one point in favor of the Dominican Republic because a service error by Clarivett Yllescas (three points in the set). Peru's blocking was strong, but Dominican Republic's spike was stronger. However, Grecia Herrada´s block (one point in the set) helped Peru to hang in. The second technical time out was for Dominican Republic at 16-13 because another Peru mistake in the service. Peru's reception started to decrease and Dominican Republic went ahead 20-14. Peru coach Natalia Málaga asked for the team's second time out and Peru scored two more points. Vivian Baella´s spike (three points in the set) defeated Dominican dig and the point difference closed to four points. However, the first set ended 25-19 in 22 minutes on Candida Arias’ spike.
The second set was tight again, but Peru's spike put them ahead in 8-6 at the first technical timeout in favor of thanks to Clarivett Yllescas´ spike (three points in the set). Dominican Republic started to improve their game and moved to within four points. However, Peru's game was stronger and they made four straight points. After the second time out that Dominican Republic coach Wagner Pacheco asked for, Dominican Republic team closed the gap to within three points. When Peru scored their 15th point, the Dominican Republic's Paola Peña (seven points in the set) yelled to Peruvian Players and it was the first foul that Dominican Republic got in the game. This foul gave to Peru the 16th point and they went to the second technical time out. The set reached the difference of one point at 20-19 in favor of Peru, and Malaga asked for their first time out. After that, Peru's technique did not seem to get any better and blocking mistakes put Dominican Republic ahead 22-20. Mistakes in the Dominican Republic reception helped Peru tie the set at 22 points. The set continued the same path and the score turned out to 24-22 in favor of Peru, but Peru's mistakes in reception turned the score too 25-24. The set ended 26-24 in 28 minutes because of Peña´s spike.
The third set started as the previous ones. This time, the first technical time out was for Dominican Republic that had two points of difference to Peru. Peru's dig and reception was wrong, which helped to the Dominican team to increase it score to 14-11. The second technical time out was again to Dominican Republic with 4 points of difference. Peru's game decreased and Dominican Republic attack was harder. The set reached the 21-14 thanks to Raffaella Camet (one point in the set) failed dig. Peru scored their 15th point, but Dominican Republic's service and attack stopped their game. Dominican Republic players had stronger blocking and spike. Marianne Fersola´s spike (three points in the set) defined the set to 25-15 in 20 minutes.
