Poland set the first victory against the winless Kenya

Poland block overwhelm the net

Mexicali, Mexico, July 18, 2009- Poland achieved their first victory after they out classed Kenya 3-0 (25-10, 25-6, 25-9) in third and final day the first round pool C in the 2009 Women’s Junior World Championship held here at Auditorio del Estado Ciudad Deportiva hall in Mexicali, Mexico on Saturday. The victory improved Poland’s win- loss ratio to 1-2 to finish at the third position of pool C. Kenya dropped to 0-3 to finish at the bottom of the pool. Both team will leave for Tijuana to play for the 9-16 positions. 
 The Kenyan team began the match in a discipline backline defense which was the main cause of their defeat in the first two matches and succeeded to lead 4-3 due to the efficient spikes from the team captain Evelyine Makuto and the block of Elisheba Chepkemboi. Poland arranged their combination led by the setter Joanna Wolosz and succeeded to lead 8-6 at the FTT. The Kenyan reception became disturbed again to allow Poland to win many points from the service and reached 16-7 at the STT. The Polish right attacker Tamara Kaliszuk started her unstoppable hits from position 2 that made it easy to go through winning the set 25-10.
 Poland coach made some substitution in his fielded players that made him controlling all the net action offensively and defensively. Both Sylwia Pelc and Maja Tokaraska spiked well and made their team ahead all through the set till winning widely 25-6.
 The third set went the same through the complete dominance of Poland in the net action to win the set 25-9.
