Team profile

Belgian Junior Men

The Belgian team has qualified for the second time in history for the Junior World Championship. The first time was in 2009 in India (Pune) with a sixth place as result.

With this second participation in the World Championship in Brazil, the Belgian team continues the story of the great evolution that Belgium is making in volleyball. Since a few years the youth, junior and senior teams are doing it well in championships. The many young players who were present on those international tournaments, are now playing in the mens national team.

With this participation in Brazil, it is intended that the young athletes will find their way into the senior team.

Coach profile

Steven Vanmedegael was named the Belgium coach in 2007 and began working with the side in 2009 as they qualified the team for the first time in history for the FIVB Volleyball Men's Junior World Championship where they finished sixth.
