Team profile

Germany are looking to build on their success at this year's FIVB Volleyball Men's Junior World Championship in Brazil after qualifying in two five set thrillers against Estonia and Italy and a 3-0 win over Greece.

Nearly the whole German team was concentrated in the club centre in Berlin and played in the first division last season.

After finishing the Junior European Championship 2010 in sixth the participation in the World Championship is an important step for development this year.
Coach profile

Steward Bernard is an experienced coach, who gained his merits with the young generation as well as with the older generation. He has been coach of the German men’s youth team for for eight years during which he brought developed many talented players. Bernard helped out as coach for the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Junior World Championship Qualification, because his predecessor Söhnke Hinz started a new engagement with Evivo Düren club. Stewart Bernard won the qualification and now leads the team to the World Championship in Brazil.
