Press Conference: United States Versus Tunisia

USA's Russell Lavaja receives a set from Joseph Kauliakamoa in a match versus Tunisia

Tunisia Head Coach Hedi Karray:
“We have two players who are injured, so we are not playing at the level that we are used to.”

Tunisia Captain Ismail Moalla:
“Basically, we played better early. Later serve reception was a problem and we were not playing at the level we need to.”

USA Head Coach Shawn Patchell:
“Tunisia played well. They served us tough and kept us out of system. In the first set, we did not play poorly. Tunisia just beat us. But we got better throughout the match. This was a good win for us against a good team. Tomorrow’s match is very important for us. India is a strong team and looks like they have been training together for a long time. We have only trained as a team for two weeks.

USA Captain Murphy Troy:
“This was a big match for us. At the start, we were not playing at the level we need to. Our block defense got better as the game went on. Our goal is to get better every match.”
