PUNE, India (Aug. 1, 2009) - Iran recorded its second straight win when it beat China 25-15, 22-25, 25-15, 25-13 in Pool B of the 2009 FIVB Men's Junior World Championship at Pune, India.

Iran assured its qualification into the second round. This was China's first defeat in two matches.

Iran looks a more determined team as its aggressive start rattled China completely. Without giving any chance Iran shut out China in the first set in a quick time with a thorough professional game. It went about its job in a steady manner and there was no lose game. Without its strong jump serve China was struggling to launch its attack. That suited Iran well.

However, China regained some rhythm in the second set to take a two-point lead and maintained it right through, though Iran did fight hard to catch up with the rival. At one stage Iran trailed 16-20. Still Iran managed to cut down the lead to just two points.at 20-22. But China maintained its momentum of attack with Song and Dai coming up with some well angled shots. China made it one set all.

It looked an even contest stage. But what happened later was a big surprise. China just caved in the third and fourth sets. Its game left much to be desired. Later on the China coach denied any casual approach of team. But China was throwing away points and Iran continued to surge ahead. In the both these sets Iran did not face any tough fight from China and walked away a comfortable victory.
