Stanislaw Gosciniak coached Resovia Club to the Polish
Championship four times from 1971-1975. In 1975, the club also finished second
at the World Championship.
Gosciniak was a member of the gold medal winning team at
the World Championship in Mexico, and twice took part in the Olympic Games:
Mexico 1968 (fifth place) and Munich 1972 (ninth place).
In total, he represented Poland 218 times and was
considered one of the best setters in the world.
Gosciniak joined AZS Czestochowa Club as coach in 1977,
winning the Polish Championship four times (1990, 1994, 1995, 1997), finishing
second three times (1991, 1992, 2001), and winning the Polish Cup in 1998 and
the Super Cup in 1995.
In 1987, Gosciniak assumed the role of coach of the
Polish Senior National Team. At the World Championship in Paris he guided the
team to ninth place.
From 2002-2004 he was coach of the Polish Senior Men's
National Team, leading them to the Olympic Games in Athens (2004).
Since April 2009 he has been working as coach of the
Polish Junior Men's National Team.
On October 27, 2005 he became a member of the Volleyball
Hall of Fame.
