Team profile

The Men's Junior national team of Hellas (GRE), after many years, will participate again in the finals of the World Championship. In the last two years, the team took part in the following competitions:

In March 2008, the team failed to advance from the second round of the European Championships in Germany.

In August 2008, Greece finished second at the Balkan Championships in Turkey.

In April 2009, they participated in the first round of the World Championships in Finland and qualified to second stage.

Greece qualified for the finals in India from the second round in Croatia.
Coach profile

Georgios Karavidopoulos was born in Thessaloniki, North Hellas in June 1963.

He graduated from Aristotelion University in Physical Education and began working as a teacher of Physical Education at primary schools.

As a coach, he has worked at clubs P.A.O.K. and Apollon Kalamaria. He also coached the Military Officers School team from 1995-1997.

As the coach of pre-national boys teams in Thessaloniki, Karavidopoulos has taken part in many national competitions with very good results.

On March 1, 2008 he was hired as the coach of the Men's Junior and Youth National teams. Karavidopoulos led the Men's Junior team to 2nd place in the 2008 Balkan Championships.
