Team profile

The Egyptian Junior National Team includes players from different clubs in Egypt.

The team first participated at the 2005 Youth Boys African Nations in Tunisia, where they ranked second to qualify for the 2007 Youth Boys World Championship in Mexico.

They also finished second at the 2008 African Championship in Tunisia.

Most of the players started playing club volleyball in 2000 and 2001. The team is being groomed to become the first Egyptian National Team to take part in the Olympics, in London 2012.

Coach Mohammed Ali Allakany was born in 1962 and is married with three children.

As a player he participated in the following tournaments:

Youth World Cup in the United States in 1980

Military World Cup in Pakistan in 1983

Universities World Cup in Japan in 1985

World Cup in Japan in 1985

Continental World Cup in Brazil in 1987

African Cup of Nations qualification tournament for the World Cup (four times)

 

Coaching career:

Zamalek (Egypt) team coach in 1990

Alamal (Saudi Arabia) team coach in 1992

Egyptian National Team coach from 1993 to 1998

Zamalek coach from 2000 to 2002

Bany yasy (UAE) coach for three years, winning two national tournaments

Geziera (Egypt) and Petrojet (Egypt) coach until 2009
