Team profile

Cuba is participating in its tenth World Junior Championship, with concrete aspirations of winding up with a podium finish.

The players are experienced and are committed and eager to achieve their objectives.

In 2005, Cuba won the bronze medal the tournament, and the team is approaching this year's competition as an opportunity to enjoy more success, based on a sound technical foundation and a year of preparation.
Coach profile

Juan Carlos Gala Rodriguez is a graduate in Physical Culture and a specialist in volleyball with a wide range of experience at the junior level, where he has achieved some great results on both national and international stages.

Gala Rodriguez was the technical director of the Trinidad & Tobago national team for four years.

He participated as technical director in NORCECA tournaments and the ALBA Games as well as in preparatory sessions for several competitions, always with good results.

Gala Rodriguez will head Cuba at the Junior World Championship, and the team aspires to be among the finalists and to win a medal.
