Competition System
6. COMPETITION SYSTEM

The competition consists of three rounds, with 38 matches in total:

a) Preliminary Round 30 matches
b) Final Rounds 8 matches

6.1 Preliminary Round

Two pools (A, B) will be composed of 6 teams each and in each pool the teams will play a Round Robin system to determine the ranking and will be classified from 1st to 6th.

Teams ranked 5th and 6th in each preliminary pool (A5, A6, B5, B6) will depart from the Championship immediately following the Preliminary Round.

6.2 Final Rounds (see Appendix 1 - FIVB O-8d form)

6.2.1 The final rounds consist of 8 matches: four matches for the rankings 1 4 and for the classification 5 8. The four matches for the rankings 1 4 consist in the semi-finals and finals.

6.2.2 The final round for ranking 1 4 will be played by the teams ranked 1st and 2nd of each preliminary round pool. The final round for classification ranking 5 8 will be played by the teams ranked 3rd and 4th of each preliminary round pool.
