24-Aug, start time: 10:00, end time: 11:23 - Attendance: 200
Slovakia started the match in good organization in defense and attack
Slovakia started the match in good organization in defense and attack, so they led the set from the start till they ended the set. The setter Skladany Bransilav succeeded to make it hard for the Italians to control net action by his excellent setting to Janker Peter and Piovarci Josef. Slovakia led 8-5, in the first technical time out. Italy players made their best specially Perazzolo Lorenzo and Guarise Eros, but they couldn't save the set as the Slovakians were better.
The second set was more exciting as Slovakia also led from the start by their solid block to lead 8-5, before the Italians reorganized their defense and block by Guarise and Rossa Malta to enter the match and lead 23-22, but they lost the service twice in this critical time to pave the way for Slovakia to win the set 26-24.
In the third set Slovakia led as usual by their solid back defense through the libero Vlk Martin, but the European champions tried to activate the spiking by Lorenzo and Roberto but the Slovakian team was better organized to continue in the last points to win 25-23 leaving the Italians in a critical position.
