The strong Bulgarians destroy Slovakian defense
The strong well built Bulgarian players set their first win in the opening match of Pool D after defeating Slovakia in straight sets 3-0 (25-23, 25-17, 25-22). In the first set, Slovakia was in the steering wheel as they led in both technical time out due to the solid block of Lukas Divis and Peter Janusek, and they succeeded to stop the efficient spikes of the tall Bulgarian players, specially the captain Todor Aleksiev. The Bulgarians again used their potential to recover and efficiently led the net to win 25-23.
In the second set Bulgarian players were more aggressive in spiking by the net, and their super star, Todor led the net action, spiking and blocking. Also Gaydarski emerged as a star to lead the team to end the set easier 25-17.
In the third set, Slovakia tried to stay in field and began more active by the effective block of Sabo Julius, but again it was Todor, the scorer and best blocker of the match, who led his team efficiently to win 25-22 and achieve the first win in the competition.
