Since
first becoming involved with the national team in 1991, Larry
McKay has now become head-coach of a five-prong coaching staff
in charge of the Canadian Youth team.
Over that time while working with the national team the
38-year-old from Winnipeg, Manitoba has also been involved with
three FISU Games Teams (1991, 1993 and 1997) and continues to be
extensively involved in a number of levels of Canadian
Volleyball.
A professional Volleyball coach at the University of Winnipeg,
McKay has an array of experience, which will be used to full
effect by the up and coming talent of Canada.
But McKay is aware of the big assignment ahead. "We hope to
compete with the strong teams. Our first match against Tunisia
will be a great result for us if we win," he said. "But Brazil,
Iran and Russia are definitely the favorites."
