2013 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Champions Cup Media Guide

Lausanne, Switzerland, November 7, 2013 – The official 2013 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Champions Cup Media Guide is now available.

The Media Guide features information on every team set to compete in the sixth edition of the tournament as well as key statistics from past competitions and the most up-to-date schedule and competition formula.

Taking place on the back on an Olympic year, the World Grand Champions Cup is one of volleyball’s most prestigious tournaments, showcasing the best from around the world. They have completed amongst the best in their continent in order to make it to Japan and will now play off for the honour of winning this exceptional quadrennial tournament.

The FIVB Volleyball World Grand Champions Cup traditionally heralds the end of the international volleyball season and it has been renowned for always throwing up surprises.

The women’s tournament runs from November 12 to 17, 2013.

The men’s tournament runs from November 19 to 24.

A total of 144 athletes will be competing in the tournament, composed of six teams per gender. The 10 day competition will include 15 matches per gender, with a potential fan base of 16,500 spectators for men and 18,000 for the women’s events.
