Kwiek praises Italy's setter

Dominican Republic coach, Marcos Kwiek
“It was a great game. The Italian team has a great setter. I think she is the best in the world and has a lot of experience. We have only two games left and these games are very important. We will try our best in each game and we would like to improve our ranking.

(Re. Game against Japan on Saturday)

“I think the Japanese have become a better and stronger team in this tournament. I will talk about how we will play after the game.”

Dominican Republic No. 14, Prisilla Rivera
"We were still exhausted from yesterday's game and there was nothing good about today's game. We made repeated errors.

(Re. Game against Japan on Saturday)

“Japan is a good team with good defense, so I think it will be hard game.”

Italian coach, Massimo Barbolini
“It was a good game. The important thing is to continue to have games like today; we don't want any more games like yesterday's. We won because we paid good attention to Dominican Republic's play. The first set was difficult, but in the second set we didn't make many mistakes, so that was good.

(Re. What about game against Japan on Sunday?)

“We have to think about the game against Brazil first. I respect the Japanese team but the match against Brazil will be a very important match. Japan is a strong team. This year, the Japanese team improved and became strong, so in the 2010 World Championships, Japan will be one of the main teams.”

(Re. What about your preparations for Brazil?)

“I know the Brazilian team are very strong; they are a great team. What we must do is to play at our best. We don't have any strategy; we just have to play well.”

Italian No. 11 Serena Ortolani
“We played a good match. We studied yesterday's match and we improved in the first set and we played good volleyball.”
