Focus, concentration is the key for Poland

Poland

Coach Daniel Castellani: After the game with Cuba we said we wanted to close this tournament in good condition and show our best at this moment. We wanted to close in good form and today the players stayed focused and concentrated all the game and played a good game to close the tournament.

It was good for a European team to play against different styles, for example the Asian teams with good defence and good receiving. We have learned much from their style and we can improve our volleyball.

Captain Michal Bakiewicz: I am very happy that we finished this tournament with another win. After yesterday, we played quite secure and it is very important for us because we started the tournament quite badly. It is not a problem to win when everything goes well, but we needed to change from the first games. We were secure and I am very happy to finish with two wins.

Egypt

Coach Antonio Giacobbe: We started the match with very good concentration. The first set was close until one point and at the end of this set something happened to our main middle blocker. He had a little injury and from this moment we lost balance and concentration. Poland played very strong and that is why it was very difficult later. Some other players suffered some injury, another middle blocker with a knee injury, and today the main spiker (Salah) had pain in his stomach so it was complicated for us to come back into the match. But Poland played good.

We fought against strong teams playing high-level volleyball and it was a good chance to test our players, so we have taken a big luggage of experience from this tournament.

Captain Hamdy El Safi: We played the first set very good and after that our players did not play their best. Poland played very good today. We hope to come again to the Grand Champions Cup and I think next time we will do our best.
