The
Development Centre opened in 1988 and is directed since
its opening by Mr. Abdoulaye Baba SY who is also the
President of the National Federation of Senegal.
The three major
goals of the Development Centre are:
- to intensify the
International Cooperation.
- to
improve the technical level and administrative tools of
the National Federations concerned by the Development
Centre.
- to
organise courses, seminars and symposium for Coaches,
Referees and all Volleyball Actors in order to improve
the level of Volleyball.
The
Development Centre works in close collaboration with the
National Federations of the following countries: Mali,
Guinea, Niger, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Chad,
Cameroon, Centrafrica, Congo, Congo DR, Togo, Benin
Rwanda, Gabon, Comoros, Burundi, Cape Verde, Guinea
Bissau, Gambia, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Mauritania,
Algeria, Morocco and Egypt.
Therefore, teaching material and information are
available in French, English, Portuguese and Arabic.
Since
its opening the Development Centre has hosted over 30
courses, seminars and symposium and welcomed more than

No
doubt that the Development Centre of Senegal has played
a key role in the implementation and development of
Volleyball and Beach Volleyball on the African
continent. The tremendous work of Mr. Abdoulaye Baba SY
