The
FIVB Development Centre in Bahrain was opened in
1985 and has held over 134
courses (with an average of 15 participants at
each course) such as Coaches Courses, Refereeing
Courses (International Refereeing Candidate
Courses, Refresher Courses and National
Courses), Sports Management Courses, VIS Courses
(Volleyball Information System -
Besides presenting information
after the matches, VIS provides data on teams
and players before each match including
statistics and results),
Technical Seminars as well other clinics and
symposium.
Due to its tremendous success, the Development
Centre had to build another complex which opened
its doors in May 2005.
The new Development Centre's
strategy is aimed to reinforce the collaboration
with the Asian and African National Federations
in order to encourage them to take part in the
programmes and courses offered by the Centre
which number is to be increasing in the years to
come.
