This SAP course for Level One Coaches concluded on
14 September in Praia, Cape Verde.
The course was conducted by Marco Angel Martinez
Novo from Cuba. The course included
theoretical and practical sessions addressed to 20
coaches from various parts of the country. The NF
President António Rodrigues underlined that this
training action took place at a time when
Volleyball is growing in the country. He
announced that a great challenge in 2004 will be
the participation of the Cape Verde teams at the
international level, at least regionally, namely
at the U-17 and senior men's and women's level. As
to Beach Volleyball, the NF is joining efforts
with the NOC in order to promote the discipline.
On behalf of the Ministry of Sports, Ms Idalina
Almeida commented that this initiative shows that
Volleyball in Cape Verde has been growing and that
the FIVB has been playing a considerable dynamic
role. There was also good support from the
Sports Ministry.
Cuban technician, Martinez Novo was satisfied
with results and hopes that his contribution will
be of the greatest benefit to Volleyball in Cabo
Verde.
