London, Great Britain, August 8, 2011 – Brazil’s Liliane Maestrini and Angela Vieira will open the Visa FIVB Beach Volleyball International on Tuesday when they take on Candelas Bibiana and Mayra Garcia of Mexico in an all-Latin American clash at 10:00 (local time).
The Brazilian pair recently finished ninth at the A1 Grand Slam presented by Volksbank in Klagenfurt, Austria and they will be out to improve on their second elimination round finish, once the action starts on Horse Guard’s Parade.
The Mexicans have struggled in recent tournaments and will hope to get back to the form they showed at the Quebec Open Jeep 2011 where they finished fifth.

Chen Xue and Xi Xhang of China are the first of the big names in action when they play Jolien Sinnema and Margo Wiltens at 14.35 (local time).
The Chinese pair are ranked second and in good form. They won the bronze at the FIVB Swatch Beach Volleyball World Championships, Rome 2011, powered by smart and finished second in Klagenfurt.
Third seeds Jennifer Kessy and April Ross meanwhile start against Uganda’s Josephine Nammanda and Alice Gitta Okecho at 20.10 local time, while fourth seeds Viviana Cunha Taiana Lima of Brazil begin at 19.15 against Tealle Hunkus and Heather Lowe.
The first day of action comes to a close at 21.05 when Britain’s Shauna Mullin and Zara Dampney, the tournament top seeds, take on Australian duo Taliqua Clancy and Eliza Hynes.
The Visa FIVB Beach Volleyball International features 12 matches per day on centre court with the pool play action continuing until Thursday before the Round of 16 on Friday before the quarterfinals on Saturday and semifinals and finals on Sunday.
