Press release

Enjoying the match is a key for Brazilian side, Castro says

The Brazilian girls appear to be relieved following the five-set intense victory over China

Sheila Castro, Player of Brazil: Today we went really well on defence and on serve. We played every point with happiness, that's how Brazil plays. The Brazilian team plays much better when we are happy. With happiness and motivation from each other, that's how we win the game.

On their medal chances:
We have to think about Serbia next, it depends on the other results. If we go through, we will win the gold.

Jacqueline Carvalho, Player of Brazil: We did our job. It was one of our best matches that we've done until now. It was very difficult but we talk a lot with each other to reach a good result.

On Brazil's hopes of qualifying:
Now we have Serbia. Unfortunately we are dependent on other results.

Fabiana Oliveira, Player of Brazil: China are really tough team. It was a difficult match but we knew the difficulties. We had a lot of pressure because we knew that if we lose, we could have been out of the Olympic Games. We gave a lot of dedication and energy.

On Brazil's tournament prospects:
We were very angry with the last defeat (against USA). We had a very complicated group. Everybody wants to win but if we continue like this it is going to be difficult to stop Brazil.

Zeng Chunlei, Player of China: As a substitute I have advantages. I have less pressure. All the team members pass me the ball. They give me a lot of opportunities. I played well in the end of the fourth set.

Chu Jinling, Player of China: They (Brazil) did really well, especially in defence, and their whole strategy was better than ours.
