"We're just taking it day by day" says William Priddy after second win in straight sets for Team USA

Supported by his family on the stands William Priddy significantly contributed to USA's 3-0 win over Germany

London, Great Britain, July 31, 2012 – “It was good, wasn’t clean all the time but we worked together and worked hard, as well as showing a lot of composure” said William Priddy at the end of the match with Germany that contributed a second victory in straight sets to Team USA in preliminary Pool B. “Germany is a great team with great serves which put us in a lot of trouble often snowballing into more mistakes. As for the next matches, we’re taking it all day by day, taking it as it comes. We’ll have to just wait and see what happens, that’s what we have done so well four years ago in Beijing”.

“Germany came out immediately on us and served well” said coach Alan Knipe. “Our next stop is with Brazil, there are a lot of familiar faces for us so we can expect to play well. Our guys have a pretty good idea of what to expect”. Questioned about the chances of his team in the tournament, Knipe responded: “Right now we can’t get caught up in the bigger picture. We have to think about what comes next first”.

Germany’s youngster Denis Kaliberda wasn’t too happy after a second defeat: “We need now to see our mistakes and this will help us get better. We were unable to score some crucial points and maybe our spikers were not good enough today”.
