Beach Volleyball 4X4 - Rules of the Game

The Beach Volleyball 4X4 tournament will be a highlight of the 2019 ANOC World Beach Games
Doha, Qatar, October 4, 2019 - Beach Volleyball 4X4 is a dynamic discipline in which two teams of four players face off either side of the net.

A highly popular form of the sport in the United States and Brazil, the four-a-side tournament at the Qatar 2019 World Beach Games from October 12 to 16 will be the first-ever FIVB-sanctioned event of its kind as the international federation continues to grow volleyball around the world.

The Beach Volleyball 4X4 Rules of the Game are available here.
To win a match, a team needs to win two out of three sets. The first two sets are played with the first team to reach 21 points with a margin of two points the victor. If the match goes to a third set tie-break, the first team to reach 15 points with a two-point lead wins the match.

An athletic spectacle to which spectators contribute by bringing atmosphere, noise and colour, beach volleyball tournaments are also held at other multi-sport events including the Olympic Games, Youth Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games and Pan-American Games.
