FIVB Athletes’ Commission meet in Lausanne

Lausanne, Switzerland, January 22, 2019 - The FIVB Athletes’ Commission made further engagement and support for the players the focus during its highly productive meeting in Lausanne.

The Commission talked in depth about the introduction of the FIVB Competition Manipulation Course as well as new ways to ensure that athletes have more career opportunities following their retirement from playing. The Commission also talked about the athletes’ engagement on social media, with digital transformation being at the heart of the FIVB’s work. The election process for the Athletes’ Commission was also discussed.

Following the meeting, FIVB President Ary S. Graça F° said:
“The FIVB Athletes’ Commission is a great platform for the players to be heard as their input is invaluable. I would like to encourage them to work in the team spirit not only on the field of play but also here, helping us to shape the future of our beloved sport. We look forward to making the most of their experience and knowledge, to increase the popularity of volleyball in the world.”

The FIVB will continue to hold the remainder of its annual commissions throughout January and February 2019.
