Nawrocki: Women's World Championship in 2022 will boost Polish team

Poland coach Jacek Nawrocki is keen on doing everything step by step before playing the FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship in the year 2022
Warsaw Poland, January 18, 2018 – “Anyone who wishes the Polish women’s team to do well will enjoy this good news,” said national team coach Jacek Nawrocki after it was announced that the FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship in 2022 will take place in the Netherlands and Poland.

“This is a huge push for development and an important goal for our young team, which we formed two and a half years ago,
” he said. “The decision to give Poland the opportunity to host the World Championship in 2022 with the Netherlands will allow us to create a long-term goal and further motivate our girls to work hard.

The 53-year-old Polish mentor wants to keep things in perspective, however, in order to achieve the best possible results.

“This will give a huge boost to the team but I would like to warn against thinking too far ahead because we already have important tournaments this year like the Volleyball Nations League and the European Championship, where we would like to repeat our good performances last season. The team must progress step by step and not easily give in to successes or traps.”

Navrocki hopes to get a good result at the World Championship in 2022 but is focusing on what comes next for now.

“Everything is possible but I think that we should concentrate on the next events first and foremost. The players must gain experience first and then learn to be leaders. If all of these things are done and the women’s volleyball league raises its level, then everything is possible.

“We have talented young players who are in great shape and excel in youth competitions. They will also move up to the senior team. In our country, we have everything to be positive about when it comes to the future of the sport.”
