Khatam Ardakan aim for first victory in World Championship campaign

 
Rzeszow, Poland, November 27, 2018 - Asian club champions Khatam Ardakan of Iran will take on Polish club Asseco Resovia Rzeszow in the second match of their 2018 FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship campaign on Wednesday.

Head-to-Head
·    Khatam Ardakan and Asseco Resovia meet for the first time at the Club World Championship as both teams participate for the first time this year.
·    Teams from Iran are winless against teams from Poland at the Club World Championship (4 matches).

·    Khatam Ardakan started their
Club World Championship campaign with a 3-0 defeat against Trentino Volley.
·    The best result by an Iranian side at the
Club World Championship is a third place by Paykan Tehran in 2010.
·    Khatam Ardakan could become the third Iranian side to win a
Club World Championship match, after Paykan Tehran (7 victories) and Matin Varamin (1).
·    Nine different players contributed in Khatam Ardakan's 53-point scoring effort against Trentino, with Mohammadhassan Senobar their most prolific scorer (10 points).

Asseco Resovia
·    Asseco Resovia started their inaugural
Club World Championship campaign with a 3-2 win over Sada Cruzeiro.
·    That means all four Polish teams to have competed at the
Club World Championship, PGE Skra Belchatów, Jastrzebski Wegiel and ZAKSA Kedzierzyn-Kozle, have now won their opening match in the competition.
·    Asseco Resovia's victory ended a five-match losing run of Polish teams at the
Club World Championship (includes defeat of PGE Skra Belchatów earlier on Monday).
·    In Asseco Resovia's 3-2 victory over Sada Cruzeiro on Monday, Thibault Rossard shared the top scorer honours of the match with Sada Cruzeiro's Evandro M. Guerra: 22 points each.
