Good governance and accountability top the FIVB Finance Commission agenda

FIVB Finance Commission put good governance and accountability in top agenda
Lausanne, Switzerland, April 20, 2018 – The FIVB Finance Commission held a meeting in Lausanne today to review the organisation’s financial management and discuss ways to safeguard and strengthen the principles of good governance, accountability and transparency in the future.

The commission, chaired by the FIVB Executive Vice-President and IOC Member Habu Gumel, discussed a number of important topics, including an efficient and transparent budgeting and financial control process. The commission also reviewed the FIVB’s accounts and financial reports.

The FIVB is intent on introducing cutting-edge technology in all the areas of its work, including finance. Special software has been implemented into the FIVB’s day-to-day work to ensure better accounting reporting, budget control, cash flow projections and management.

The Financial Commission's report and proposals will be discussed at the FIVB Executive Committee and Board of Administration meetings, which are scheduled to take place in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt at the beginning of May.
