Snow Volleyball continues to build momentum in 2018

The CEV European Snow Volleyball Tour begins in Turkey this weekend.
Lausanne, Switzerland, January 10, 2018 - As winter sets in for good in most of Europe, snow volleyball is gathering momentum across the continent ahead of the CEV European Snow Volleyball Tour that kicks off this coming weekend on Turkey's Mount Erciyes.

There's more stops on the Tour coming later in the year in Italy twice, Turkey again and Slovenia - but the season's highlight is the inaugural European Championship in Wagrain-Kleinarl & Flachau, Austria, from March 23 to 25.

With 17 countries across Europe now scheduled to hold Snow Volleyball National Championships, the discipline is rising impressively fast.

Last year the President of the FIVB, Dr. Ary S. Graça F°, officially announced that the sport's governing body aspires to be the first international federation to participate in both the summer and winter Olympic Games. He gave his support to snow volleyball, a new member of the volleyball family.

And President Graça also shared his ideas and thoughts for the development of snow volleyball over the next few years, when he attended the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) Board of Administration meeting in Moscow a couple of months ago.
