Soto to coach Qatar's national team

The Qatar Volleyball Association welcome new coach Camilo Soto
Doha, Qatar, December 9, 2017 - After guiding Argentina to gold at the 2017 edition of the FIVB Volleyball Men's U23 World Championship, 42-year-old Camilo Soto will now take responsibility for Qatar's national team after agreeing terms with the Qatar Volleyball Association (QVA) on Saturday. The Argentinian will replace Italian coach Roberto Piazza.

QVA President Ali Ghanim al Kuwari said: “There were several candidates for the job. But what we liked about Soto was that he worked with the Under-23 of Argentina and coached it to the world title. We also have many young players in our national team. We wish good luck to him and hope that he will be able to shape our players well.”

Soto said: “It is an hounour to be the coach of Qatar. Both good talent and infrastructure are available here and we need to focus on the development of the players and game here.”
