Morocco through to final World Championship qualifiers

Morocco qualified to the finals of African Nations Championship and in range to qualify for the 2018 World championship
Rades, Tunisia September 24, 2017 - Morocco men's volleyball team booked a ticket for the finals of the 2017 Men's African Nations Championship due to be held in Cairo, Egypt, from October 22 to 29, after they captured top spot in the Zone 1 qualifiers.

The finals of the 2017 Men's African Nations Championship will act also as a qualifier for the 2018 Men's FIVB Volleyball World championship as the top three teams in the finals will confirm their tickets to the prestigious global event.

The Zone 1 qualifiers were organised in Tunis, Tunisia in the presence of the national teams of Algeria, Morocco and Libya, while as hosts, Tunisia had already booked a finals ticket as one of the top three African teams.

Morocco beat Algeria in a thrilling final 3-2 (25-20, 15-25, 21-25, 25-21, 17-15) in a repeat of the last African Nations bronze medal match. Both Morocco and Algeria overcame Libya in the first two days of the three-nation qualifier.

Algeria are now waiting for the FIVB ranking to confirm another place in the finals, while Libya were eliminated.
