World Grand Champions Cup: Italy take down USA 3-1

Italy won the crucial match against USA to earn a chance to win their second FIVB Volleyball Men's World Grand Champions Cup
Osaka, Japan, September 17, 2017 – Italy defeated USA 3-1 (25-22, 25-22, 23-25, 29-27) to earn the possibility to finish top at the 2017 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Grand Champions Cup.

Italy concluded their World Grand Champions Cup campaign with a 4-1 win-loss record that already guaranteed them of a silver medal. The results of the match of Brazil and hosts Japan will decide their fate, whether they will move a notch higher for their second title victory. If Brazil lose 3-0 or 3-1 to Japan or even if Brazil finish with a win in five sets, Italy will take the top spot in the 2017 edition.

The Men’s World Grand Champions Cup features a total of six teams that play in a round-robin tournament from September 12 to 17. Nagoya and Osaka host the seventh edition of the tournament.
