World Grand Champions Cup: Italy claim four-set win over Japan

Italy defeated hosts Japan 3-1 in the 2017 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Grand Champions Cup in Osaka
Osaka, Japan, September 15, 2017 – Italy claimed a 3-1 (25-23, 22-25, 25-20, 25-22) win over hosts Japan in the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Grand Champions Cup on Friday.

In so doing, Italy extended their reign over Japan with a 4-0 win-record in the history of the World Grand Champions Cup. Italy have won their last eight competitive matches against Japan. Italy now have a 2-1 win-record, while Japan are still winless in the competition.

The Men’s World Grand Champions Cup features a total of six teams that play in a round-robin tournament from September 12 to 17. Nagoya and Osaka host the seventh edition of the tournament.
