World Grand Champions Cup: USA top Japan in straight sets

Japan took on USA to close the first day of competition at the 2017 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Grand Champions Cup in Nagoya
Nagoya, Japan, September 12, 2017 – USA topped Japan 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-13) in the third match of the 2017 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Grand Champions Cup.

USA edged Japan for the third consecutive time at the World Grand Champions Cup. The two countries have met four times in the tournament. Japan have lost each of their last 18 competitive matches against USA since their 3-1 victory at the 1993 World Grand Champions Cup.

The Men’s World Grand Champions Cup features a total of six teams that play in a round-robin tournament from September 12 to 17. Nagoya and Osaka host the seventh edition of the tournament.
