Germany tops Brazil 2-0, will play for gold

 
Laura Ludwig/Kira Walkenhorst, Germany (4) defeated Talita Antunes/Larissa Franca, Brazil (1)  2-0 (21-19, 21-16).  

Germany has now won six of the seven FIVB World Tour meeting between the two teams including two other 2-0 Semi-Final wins at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games and the FIVB World Tour Finals.  The two teams have split gold medal match meetings with Germany winning 2-1 at the 2016 FIVB Poland Grand Slam and Brazil winning 2-0 at the 2015 FIVB World Tour Finals.  Germany also won two other times in 2015 at the FIVB Yokohama Grand Slam and the FIVB St. Petersburg Grand Slam.

Germany will play for the gold medal against the winner of the Lauren Fendrick/April Ross of United States vs. Melissa Humana-Paredes/Sarah Pavan of Canada.  Brazil will play the loser of that match for the bronze medal.
