Taylor Sander is the wing spiker. He took his tally for the tournament to 89 points after scoring 10 versus Italy, 14 versus Russia and 25 against France. The USA’s wins over Russia and Italy mean that they sit ninth in the rankings with two wins from six.

Brazil’s setter Bruno has helped his side to a record of four wins and two defeats and he has been rewarded for his efforts by being chosen for the team of the week.

The Olympic champions are third in the rankings following a weekend that featured wins over Canada and Poland.

Canada’s Blair Bann has been named as the libero. The Canucks beat Bulgaria and lost to Brazil and Poland, but he continues to lead the table as best digger with an average of 2.45 per set.

Serbia currently sit second in the World League rankings and appear set for a place in the Final Six and the chance to defend the title they won in 2016.

Middle blocker Srecko Lisinac has been a huge part of their efforts this season and he has been named as one of two middle blockers, alongside Bulgaria’s Nikolay Nikolov.

Nikolov heads the table for blocks in the tournament, while Lisinac is third.

Both teams are in action in Cordoba, Argentina this week meaning that the clash between Nikolov and Lisinac will go a long way to determining who comes out on top.
