The new indoor beach volleyball training facility in Ljubljana was opened on Monday
Ljubljana, Slovenia, May 5, 2017 - The first Slovenian indoor beach volleyball hall was officially inaugurated on Monday in Športni Park Ludus in Ljubljana. The hall features four courts and is expected to be a valuable asset for Slovenian beach volleyball players, who are eager to make the training venue their own.

"It took almost four years to build this hall, but now we finally have it. Feedback from the players is really good, so the first step has been made. Now it's time to focus on developing beach volleyball in Slovenia and let's hope we will soon have our first professional beach volleyball pair," Martin Hrast, co-owner of the Sports Park Ludus said after the opening. Volleyball Federation of Slovenia President Metod Ropret was also present at the opening, as well as the Major of the City of Ljubljana, Zoran Jankovi?.

Jan Pokeršnik, currently the best Slovenian beach volleyball player, tested the sand. He said: "I had the honour to test the indoor courts yesterday and all I can say is that the hall is perfect. It has a huge meaning for the development of beach volleyball in Slovenia. I am really happy we finally got it."

Pokeršnik also tested one of six outside courts, which will be the side courts of the CEV Masters and CEV Satellite tournaments which will take place in the Slovenian capital from May 20 to 22.
