Venezuelan men finish 1-2-3 on South American Tour

Venezuela 1 won the all-Venezuela final
San Fernando de Apure, Venezuela, April 30, 2017 – The Venezuela 1 team of Carlos Rangel and Jonathan Golindano overcame compatriots Igor Hernandez and Gerardo Mendez 2-0 (21-18, 21-17) on Sunday in the all-Venezuela men’s final on the fourth stop of the South American Beach Volleyball Tour at the Arena Complex Batalla de las Queseras in San Fernando de Apure, Venezuela. 

Urged on by their fans, Venezuela 3 (Rolando Hernandez and the Jesus Villafane) made it a clean sweep for the hosts as they beat the Brazilian duo of Rodrigo Vieira and Vinicius Gomez in straight sets (21-17, 21-17) to earn the bronze medal.

Venezuela were also in with a chance of the women’s title as Norisbeth Agudo and Gabriela Brito took on the top Argentina team of Ana Gallay and Virginia Zonta, but the Argentine pair won the final 2-0 (21-17, 21-15). 

The bronze medal went to Colombian sisters Andrea and Claudia Galindo, who defeated the Brazilian pair of Amanda Maltez and Fernanda Nunes 2-0 (23-21, 21-16).
The finals of the South American Beach Volleyball Circuit will be held separately. The men’s tournament will take place in Brazil from May 5 to 7, while the women's finale will be held in Argentina from May 12 to 15.
