Draw held for African Women's Club Championship in Tunisia

 
Monastir, Tunisia, April 5, 2017 -  A drawing of lots ceremony was held for the 2017 Women's African Club Championship in Monastir, Tunisia on Wednesday in presence of CAVB President Dr. Amr Elwani and Control Committee members.
 
Seventeen teams will take part in the annual competition. They were divided into four pools each composed of 4 teams except Pool B which features five teams.
 
Pool B will see record holders Al Ahly take on five-time champions and favourites Prisons of Kenya.
 
Hosts Carthage are drawn alongside debutants Ndejje University from Uganda and Asec from Ivory Coast. Seven-time champions Pipeline from Kenya are in Pool C, where they will be challenged by Bafia of Cameroun.
 
The composition of the pools is as follows:
 
Pool A: Carthage, Organizer (TUN), Asec (CIV), INJS (CMR), Ndejje (UGA)
Pool B: Ahly (EGY), University (ZIM), Marsa (TUN), Bejaia (ALG), Prisons (KEN)
Pool C: Pipeline (KEN), GSP (ALG), Army (RWA), Bafia (CMR)
Pool D: Shams (EGY), ARSU (SEY), Sfaxien (TUN), FAP (CMR)
