SC Espinho win 12th Portuguese Cup
National team opposite Marco Ferreira was the best scorer of the match with 17 points, while Hugo Gaspar, with 11, was the top scorer for SL Benfica.

SC Espinho: José Rojas, Hélio Sanches, Marco Ferreira, João Simões, Fabrício Silva and Miguel Maia (captain) - Hugo Ribeiro; Frederico Santos and Valdir Reis.
At the age of 45, Miguel Maia has again lifted the Portuguese Cup. Maia has had a remarkable career, both in indoor and beach volleyball, where he partnered with Joao Brenha. His first senior national championship title dates back to 1989/90, when he claimed honours at the age of 17 playing for Academica de Espinho. He also won the Top Teams Cup in 2000/1 with SC Espinho.
SL Benfica are the team with the most titles won in this event (16). The first title came in 1965/1966 and the most recent in 2015/2016.
SC Espinho follow in second place with 12 Portuguese Cup victories. The club was the first winner of the competition in 1964/1965 and holds the record of the highest number of consecutive titles won (6) between 1995/1996 and 2000/2001.
