“We welcome you and thank you for your presence at this important course,” McGowan said. “We are proud that for the first time, an FIVB coaches course is being held in the Cayman Islands. It shows the CIVF’s willingness to invest its resources in the development of volleyball on the island. Likewise we appreciate the time that the participants have invested in this course.”

“I admire countries that seek to constantly improve and search for new training opportunities to keep growing the sport of volleyball,” Cartagena said. “This is what Cayman is showing us. I hope that all this new information and knowledge will be useful and valuable to all participants.

“The coach is a very important part of the development and growth of volleyball. I hope that you will share your knowledge and skills to other coaches as well.”

Cartagena thanked the FIVB, NORCECA and the NORCECA Development Centre for the support in organising the five-day course.
