Lausanne, Switzerland, March 2, 2017 – The cream of South American beach volleyball will head to Peru for March 3-5 for the second stop on the South American Beach Volleyball Tour, at Hermosa Beach.

Teams from Peru, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay and Uruguay will take part with the host nation represented by four men’s teams - Luis Soto and Jimy Heredia, Eduardo Romay and Jorge Saayn, Jonathan Vega and Japan Vargas and Giacomo Falcone and Andre Bustos.

In the women’s tournament Mishell and Angie Serna lead the way for Peru along with Lisbeth Allca and Alejandra Barrera.

The South America Tour began in February at Coquimbo in Chile where Brazil’s Vitor Felipe and Jo Gomes won men’s gold and their compatriots Ana Patricia and Rebecca Silva topped the women’s podium.

This season's tour has six stops followed by a final. The South American Confederation (CSV) ranking, including the previous and the current seasons, will determine the best four countries per gender to qualify for the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships to be held next July in Vienna, Austria.

In addition, the next three seasons rankings including the current will qualify the best five countries for the Pan-American Games Lima 2019 with Peru already qualified as organiser country.

For a third consecutive season, DIRECTV SPORTS will broadcast the best South American Beach Volleyball on channels 1616 and 616 for all South America, the Caribbean, USA and Canada.
