Antiga's Canada to play Jerzy Wagner Tournament in Poland

Stephane Antiga is the new coach of the Canadian men's team
Lausanne, Switzerland, February 25, 2017 – Canada has been selected as the fourth team to take part in the 15th Jerzy Wagner Memorial Tournament, which means a return to Poland for coach Stephane Antiga.

Antiga coached the Polish men’s team when they won the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship in Poland in 2014.

In addition, a number of Canadian players have played in Poland, including Dan Lewis, Justin Duff, Dallas Soonias, Gavin Schmitt, John Gordon Perrin, Frederic Winters and Jason DeRocco.

The Jerzy Wagner Tournament will be held in Krakow from August 11 to 13 and will feature Poland, France, Russia and Canada, all Top 10 teams in the FIVB Rankings.

It will be Canada’s second appearance in the tournament.

The competition will also give France a good workout ahead of September's FIVB World Grand Champions Cup in Japan.
